Maria Vandergragt is
1) a Principal Scientist in the Queensland Department of Environment and Science where she leads the Wetland Condition Science program monitoring and researching the condition of freshwater wetlands across the vast Great Barrier Reef Catchment
2) the President of the Oceania chapter Of the Society for Wetland Scientists
She is an environmental scientist with extensive experience in wetlands, program design, agricultural impacts, catchment management and has interests in wetland palaeoecology and pesticide contaminants in wetlands. Maria has been involved in a diverse mix of ecosystem and water-related research and management programs within government and non-government organisations.
