Mark D Shenton
Mark Shenton is a Research Assistant and PhD student at the Institute for Applied Ecology, University of Canberra. Building on his academic and professional background in freshwater ecology and ecotoxicology, his PhD project seeks to determine how vulnerable Australian stream macroinvertebrate communities are to the effects of fire and the major mechanisms responsible for their recovery. The outcomes of his project will enable a better understanding of the vulnerability of stream ecosystems to altered fire regimes in terms of biota present, and the potential for landscape-scale dispersal to support recovery after fire.
