Catherine M Febria

Dr. Febria (she/her/siya) is a Filipina Immigrant Settler to Turtle Island where she Tier 2 Canada Research Chair and Assistant Professor at the Great Lakes Institute for Environmental Research & Dept. of Integrative Biology at the University of Windsor. Her research focuses on the ecology and restoration of small streams and wetlands in human-impacted landscapes, and the role of small waterways in supporting good ecosystem health in the Laurentian Great Lakes. In addition to leading the Healthy Headwaters Lab and research team, she currently she serves as: co-Director of the GLIER Organic Analysis & Nutrients Laboratory (a central research facility), the Associate Director of FishCAST (a graduate student training program), an alumni Fellow and current Multidisciplinary Expert Panel Member with the Intergovernmental science-policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), as Co-Chair of the International Science Advisory Panel for New Zealand’s Biological Heritage National Science Challenge, and as Coordinating Editor with the journal Restoration Ecology .
