Sarah Cochrane

Sarah holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Geoscience and Environmental Science), a Graduate Certificate in Counselling and is a certified yoga teacher. She began her career in hydrogeology before moving to environmental planning in the mining, construction and water sectors. Over a decade in environmental approvals, planning and management, she gained diverse skills engaging across sectors, developing policies, coordinating multiple and simultaneous project approvals and strategies. Sarah joined the Australian Rivers Institute in March 2022 as Project Coordinator for the Building Catchment Resilience Project, a multi-partner initiative, largely funded by the Ian Potter Foundation. In this key role, Sarah has coordinated and facilitated key partner and industry engagement to deliver on project KPIs and the delivery strategy whilst continually supporting relationships for future collaboration. Sarah is also Engagement Coordinator with the International WaterCentre supporting the delivery of networking events with the Queensland Water Modelling Network, a key State Government initiative to build sector-wide capacity, individual capabilities and increase collaborative opportunities. In this role, Sarah supports the design, coordination and delivery of professional “Community of Practice” events.
