Annika M Quick Freshwater Sciences 2023

Annika M Quick

Annika Quick is currently an Assistant Professor of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Virginia Wesleyan University. Her research focuses on the connections between biogeochemical cycling, geomorphology, and hydrology. This has included examining how exogenous loading of nitrate in a watershed affects the production of nitrous oxide from streambed sediments in the hyporheic zone and examining the effects of land cover, infrastructure, and other geographic parameters on nutrients (especially dissolved organic carbon) in diverse urban watersheds. She earned a PhD in Geoscience from Boise State University, holds BS and MS degrees in Geology from Brigham Young University, and conducted postdoctoral research with the Carbon in Urban Rivers Biogeochemistry (CURB) group.
