Carla López Lloreda
I am a PhD student from Puerto Rico pursuing my degree in Biological Sciences at Virginia Tech with Dr. Erin Hotchkiss. I am broadly interested in watershed biogeochemistry and my graduate work focuses on quantifying and understanding greenhouse gas emissions from wetlands, focusing on different global regions and controls. I have a particular interest in understanding these processes in places that might be more vulnerable to climate change, like tropical islands or coastal ecosystems, with the ultimate goal of understanding the future of our water resources.
