The Surface water environmental quality of Oyini River in Kogi state nigeria from each sampling location was collected using a one-liter water sampler. In-situ measurements for temperature, conductivity, salinity, turbidity and pH were carried out immediately using the appropriate meters. Samples for other physico-chemical parameters were collected in recommended sample containers, preserved as necessary and stored for onward transmission to the laboratory for analysis The Water quality was measured using several factors, such as the concentration of dissolved oxygen, bacteria levels, the amount
of salt (or salinity), or the amount of material suspended in the water (turbidity). the concentration of microscopic algae and quantities, pesticides and herbicides, heavy metals, and other contaminants were also measured.
